Transferring your home to another registered provider

Sage Homes includes several registered providers within the Sage Homes group. Homes may occasionally be transferred either within the group or to another provider, but the same consultation process and customer protections apply in all cases.

This is rare, and if we propose transferring your home to a different provider, we’ll always consult with you for at least 4 weeks minimum.

Why would you ask for my opinion?

We’re committed to listening to you and making sure your feedback shapes how we work.

If we propose transferring ownership to another registered provider, we’ll write to you, explain what it means, and give you the chance to share your views or ask questions. We’ll pass your feedback to our Board before any decision is made and keep you updated on any agreed changes and when they’ll happen.

During a proposed change consultation, you will be invited to make your thoughts known by post, email or phone call. However, please be assured that:

  • You will always be safe in your home
  • Your rent will not go up as a result of the transfer
  • Your rights and legal protections will remain the same as before
  • We only work with registered providers whose customer service standards match or exceed our own

A proposed change to your landlord will not affect your rights, which are explained in your tenancy agreement. It's just that your home will move to a different registered provider.

Do I need to do anything?

No, you’re welcome to share your views on the proposed change, but this is optional.

We’ll update you on the outcome whether the transfer goes ahead or not. If it does, we’ll explain what it means for you, including who your future payments will go to and who to contact. Housing services, including repairs, will stay with us until a decision is made.
