Partnering with Women’s Aid to combat domestic abuse

Sage Homes is proud to be working with Women’s Aid to develop the skills our colleagues need to identify and support people experiencing domestic abuse. As part of this partnership, we’ll also offer professional support to customers who may be experiencing or have survived domestic abuse.

The collaboration includes the creation of a new domestic abuse policy and review of existing policies and procedures.  Educational resources will be provided to colleagues and contractors to support them in understanding how to identify if someone is experiencing abuse, how to maintain their own wellbeing when dealing with these cases and how to signpost customers to the relevant support services. Our colleagues will also have access to Women’s Aid’s dedicated professional service where they can speak with fully trained support workers about refuge vacancies, local service availability, information about the dynamics of domestic abuse, safety planning, and more.

Lucian Smithers, Chief Customer Officer at Sage Homes, said: “This important partnership with Women’s Aid is a real opportunity for us to support our colleagues in recognising and dealing with domestic abuse, as well as offering our customers who might be in this situation important guidance and advice.”
