Schools out: stay quids in this summer
The kids are on their long summer breaks, but you’re still working. It can be a stressful time of year for parents, but don’t worry – there’s lots of help out there. Take a look at the support below.
Available support
Summer activity clubs
Your local authority can use up to 15% of their funding to offer free or subsidised holiday club places. Take a look at their website to see what clubs are available and how to apply. You can check out the overall guidance here.
Free leisure passes
Your local authority may offer discount or free leisure cards if you’re on a lower income (including Universal Credit). Search your local council’s website for ‘free swimming’ or ‘leisure concessions’.
Providers like Places Leisure, Better.org, and Everyone Active also often have concessionary memberships or free access schemes for those on Universal Credit.
