Heart of Sage community giving
Heart of Sage is our charitable community benefit society providing funding and support to local projects that make a real difference to our customers and neighbourhoods.
We offer both grant funding and sponsorships. You can apply for support if your project benefits or positively influences communities.
Sponsorship
Sage Homes can support an event, activity, or organisation for smaller funding amounts. This could range from providing tasty treats at a community gathering, to supporting the local sports team with new equipment. Examples of previous activities include Halloween parties and events for the King's Coronation.
To apply for funding please complete the short form on our application page.
Grants
Through small grants, we have been helping people in our communities to develop new skills. These projects also help build stronger neighbourhoods by supporting practical, community‑led activities that bring people together.
For example we're supporting disadvantaged young people in Chesterfield to learn the basics of managing money. The programme also gives them simple, practical guidance to help them feel grow more confident and informed about everyday money matters.
Partnerships
Heart of Sage has partnered with Barclays to offer all Sage Homes customers with online training courses. They'll help you boost your financial, digital and work skills.
Any Sage Homes customer can sign up - you don't have to bank with Barclays.

Our Creating Communities Fund is an internal fund accessible to our customer facing staff. In 2025, we hosted 7 Creating Communities Fund events led by our Homes and Communities Officers and Community Safety Officers. Around 374 Sage Homes customers took part across these events.
What we heard and delivered across all events:
- Stronger engagement
Our customers took part in face to face drop‑ins and community days, helping us understand local priorities. - Working in partnership
We collaborated with councils, police, community safety teams and charities to tackle issues and build trust. - Improving shared spaces
Customers saw practical improvements, including better bin and waste management, reduced fly‑tipping and clearer signage. - Community connections
Feedback showed that our customers want more opportunities to connect with neighbours and improve local spaces, including play areas.
