Evictions

At Sage Homes, we work with our customers to help them stay in their home.

Eviction is always a last resort, and our priority is to provide support and resolve issues wherever possible. Preventing evictions and sustaining tenancies is a key part of our approach.

How we support customers

Our Financial Wellbeing Team provides guidance and support to customers who are struggling financially.
During 2025/26, the team:

  • Supported 2,176 customers with financial wellbeing advice.
  • Helped secure £2.44 million in financial support through benefits, grants and other funding.
  • Helped 79 customers stay in their home by securing £199,000 in external grants to clear rent arrears.
  • Helped customers access additional welfare benefit payments and other support.

We may also be able to help through repayment arrangements, benefits advice and referrals to specialist support services.

When eviction may happen

We will always try to work with customers before considering legal action. This includes making contact, discussing the issues affecting the tenancy and exploring any support that may be available.

However, there are some situations where eviction may be necessary. These can include serious or persistent rent arrears, ongoing antisocial behaviour, or other significant breaches of tenancy conditions. Any decision to take legal action will be considered carefully and only after reasonable opportunities have been given to resolve the issue.

The figures below show the number of evictions carried out by Sage Homes during the current reporting year to date Jan 2026.

  • Rent arrears: 18
  • Antisocial behaviour: 2
  • Total evictions*: 20

These figures are reviewed and updated annually.
