Sage Homes

Clothes swap

Refresh your wardrobe at no cost by sharing with your neighbours - find out more below.

Suitable for 10+ neighbours

How it works

1. Get your neighbours together and agree a date and location for the clothes swap.

2. Make sure you agree guidelines, with conditions around cleanliness and condition and whether shoes and accessories can be included.

3. Swap! Bring your unwanted clothes and get some new ones in return. Donate any leftovers to a local charity shop.

Make sure you take some photos of the swap. You can then share them with your community and us at heartofsage@sagehomes.co.uk.

Setting up on the day

On the day, set up your swap venue with designated areas for different types of clothing. Think about if you want a structure to the swapping – do you want to use tickets or tokens or have a more free-for-all feel?

Use signage to guide people to each area – it might be worth printing out your swap rules and putting them on the wall too

Circular fashion

Clothing swaps promote circular fashion: reducing the demand for new clothes while encouraging you to still have fun with what you wear. It’s a sustainable way to enjoy new clothes as well as saving money and building a great community vibe
