Sage Homes Reports on Strong 2023 Performance

Sage Homes, a For Profit Registered Provider, today announces its full year results for the 12 months ended 31 December 2023.

During the period, Sage Homes reported another strong year, investing £558m (up 6% year-on-year) to deliver 4,177 new affordable homes for customers (up 17% year-on-year), cementing itself as England’s largest provider of newly built affordable homes for three consecutive years.

The year also saw Sage Homes’ three Registered Providers (“RPs”) undergo their first In-Depth Assessment by the Regulator of Social Housing, in which they all received a G1* V2* rating underlining its position as an ambitious RP that is delivering large numbers of new homes for those that need them the most.

Building on the successes of 2022, further milestones included:

  • The establishment of Sage Homes’ in-house housing management service ready to manage its entire portfolio of 14,918 homes from January 2024.
  • The creation of a brand-new customer service centre in Northampton to provide a central hub to deliver best-in-class customer service.
  • The launch of Home Stepper, Sage Homes’ innovative partnership with housebuilders, providing much-needed additionality to affordable housing provision.
  • A landmark partnership with Vistry Group to deliver 1,389 affordable homes across 81 sites nationwide by Q1 2027.

Sage Homes continued with sector-leading levels of investment into new home delivery, securing a pipeline of new affordable homes totalling 22,600. During 2023, 2,696 affordable rental homes were let and 1,674 shared ownership homes were sold.

Mark Sater, CEO, Sage Homes said: “We are proud that Sage Homes has reported another year of strong operational and financial performance. In a year where we received a fully compliant G1* V2* rating from the Regulator of Social Housing, we have also demonstrated our ability to adapt quickly to changing economic conditions through innovative and agile partnerships with developers to bring much-needed additionality to the sector and continuing to deliver affordable homes at scale.

“Another major achievement has been our rapid scaling up as we prepared to take over the management of all our homes. We developed brand new teams to work in our new customer care centre, serving customers across the country and I am incredibly proud of our team’s hard work and innovation as they continue to put our customers at the heart of everything we do.”
