Iain McPherson joins Sage Homes in the new role of Chief Operating Officer

Sage Homes, the UK’s largest provider of newly built affordable housing in 2021, has appointed Iain McPherson as Chief Operating Officer.

Iain has broad experience across the housing sector, covering affordable housing and large-scale residential development. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Town & Country Housing and Monson Homes Ltd, part of the Peabody Group, and was previously Chief Executive of Countryside Partnerships plc. During his time at Countryside, Iain implemented a programme of restructuring to enable the Group to double in size and home completions over four years. His other former roles include senior positions at housing association Hyde Group and Crest Nicholson. His blend of skills is well-suited to a fast-growing business keen to deliver high quality affordable homes to customers.

Mark Sater, CEO, Sage Homes said: “The appointment of a new Chief Operating Officer reflects Sage Homes maturing as an organisation that is leading the sector in the delivery of newly built affordable homes. We are delighted that Iain is joining us in this position. 2021 was a standout year for Sage Homes with the company almost doubling in output and size and 2022 is following a similar path.

“Iain’s extensive experience across the housing sector will be invaluable in helping us to further improve our capabilities to deliver the most high-quality new affordable homes to our customers.”

Iain McPherson said: “I am excited to join Sage Homes as Chief Operating Officer at a time when the company is still growing and working with such a wide array of partners to deliver much needed affordable homes. I spent my early working years for the funder and regulator of social housing, and also for a major housing association and am very happy to be returning to affordable housing and to be part of such an innovative and fast-growing business such as Sage Homes.”
