Julia Porter joins Sage Homes’ board
Sage Homes, England’s largest provider of newly built affordable homes, has appointed Julia Porter to its board, replacing Gareth Llewellyn who completed his term of office earlier this year.
Julia, who will chair the group’s Remuneration & Nomination Committee, brings a wealth of experience to the board having more than 13 years of Non-Executive Director experience in listed, for-profit, start-up and not-for-profit organisations.
Alison Thain, Chair of Sage Homes, which has delivered more than 17,000 homes since its inception in 2017, said: “I am delighted to welcome Julia to our board at such an important time in Sage’s development. Sage was established to attract much-needed capital to help boost the country’s supply of affordable homes and Julia’s experience and knowledge across a range of sectors will help us to continue to deliver our mission to make good homes affordable to people all over England.”
As a leader and advisor, Julia has been involved in building profitable businesses using data-driven marketing, technology, and customer-focused strategies. Her extensive commercial experience and MBA training has helped her to make sense of complex business problems using data and analytics, including instigating and leading a variety of technology projects to create single customer views and deliver powerful audience insight.
Julia is also a NED and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at Hollywood Bowl Group, a FTSE 250 company, and is a Trustee and Chair of the Fundraising Committee at Home Start, Suffolk, a charity supporting families in need. She was previously a NED and Chair of the Customer Services Committee at Origin Housing and a Trustee of the Board at Worldwide Cancer Research.
Commenting on her appointment, Julia said: “I’m pleased to be joining such a dynamic company and experienced Board at an exciting time for the business. The Government has set ambitious challenges for the delivery of affordable housing, and I am keen to be part of Sage’s efforts to support this effort.”
